Step Forward is an award winning independent charity based in Bethnal Green that provides free and confidential support services for all young people living in and around Tower Hamlets.
Our area has the highest child poverty rate in the UK, and while demand for our vital support services has risen, our funding has been cut. So we’re asking you to celebrate our 30th year by fundraising to help us to continue to support local disadvantaged young people reach their full potential in life.
You can raise some money in whatever way you like – although we are encouraging anything 80s themed! Check out some of our retro-tastic suggestions below, or view the pdf and share it with your friends!
Sponsored Fancy Dress
Dig out the leg warmers or raid the charity shops for some retro goodness, and get sponsored to wear 80s gear for a day, or even a week.
Or why not have an 80s fancy dress party, and fundraise on the night either with donations on the door or by running a raffle.
Retro Dinner Party
Prawn cocktail, vol-au-vents , Black Forest gateaux. Who’s not going to love making and scoffing retro grub?
All you need to do is get some friends together, donate to take part and get cooking! How hard can a cheese and pineapple hedgehog be right? Don’t forget those 80s tunes to really get into the vibe.
Party Like it’s 1988
Whether it’s a night of cheesey tunes, or a New Romantic cool fest, have an 80s-tastic party for all your friends.
Raise money by selling tickets or collecting donations on the night. Instead of a raffle, why not get guests to bring something for an old school tombola!
Quiz Night
There’s loads of trivia questions online, pick your favourites, find a suitabley sequinned jacket, and host an 80s quiz.
Your mates’ teams can donate to take part whilst having fun being nostalgic and seeing how good your memory is!

Relive your youth, see what old 80s toys and games your friends and family have kept hold of, and get together to play them like the good old days.
