Step Forward is seeking a full-time Wellbeing Practitioner – Children & Young People, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Psychological Training (CYP CBT-PT) Trainee.This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people aged 11–25. The role requires the post holder to provide CBT and wellbeing support to young people within Step Forward and our partner schools or other youth/health settings.  As this is a training role it is essential that you are prepared to undertake a postgraduate Diploma in CYP Psychological Training Therapies in CBT.

About You

  • Ideally you’ll have 2+ years’ experience of working within school, health or youth settings
  • You will have 2 years working therapeutically with children/young people in a mental health setting
  • Minimum second-class Bachelor’s Degree from a UK University or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology, social work etc).
  • You are confident and comfortable positively promoting our services and can work appropriately within a diverse organisation with a wide range of people in regards to their racial, cultural, religious beliefs, gender, sexuality and socio-economic backgrounds
  • You are confident and competent in providing mental health and wellbeing support to young people

In order to be considered for this role you need to submit an application BOTH  to Step Forward and to Kings College London. 

Applicants for this role and training at KCL will need to be available to start at Step Forward  on the week beginning 12th January 2026 with the KCL course starting teaching on Monday 19th January 2026.  This role is and currently funded until March 2027.
