Blue Health will suit young people who may be experiencing stress, anxiety, mild mental or emotional health difficulties, or for those who find it hard to access traditional holiday activities. Step Forward also provides LGBTQ+ services and support and values inclusivity and diversity. If you are unsure which group you should attend, please don’t hesitate to discuss with us.

*if you are 19- 25 years and interested, please contact us to explore options. Only 15-17 spaces per group available.

Free sessions, travel included!

You will take part in a 3 session programme. The activities will start with stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) at West Reservoir in Stoke Newington and will then progress onto the beach at Joss Bay in Kent, where you will learn to surf. Over the course of the programme you will also have the opportunity to connect with others, learn more about water safety and connect more with the natural world/ green and blue spaces.

Step Forward has been supporting young people in Tower Hamlets with their wellbeing since 1988. Our partner organisation ‘GET OUT’ believes that surfing provides an outlet for people to experience and enjoy the benefits of surfing whilst also enjoying the further benefits of a more active lifestyle. Their surf programme will inspire confidence, improve self-esteem, increase resilience promote water-based activities and the protection of our blue spaces.

“GET OUT provided our pupils with an opportunity to take part in a program that they would never usually be able to experience. After their surf trip, they were the most excited, happy and inspired children that I have ever seen”
