Step Forward are aiming to recruit 2 full-time Wellbeing Practitioner – CYP-CBT-PT Trainees.
The role requires the post holder to provide wellbeing and mental health support to young people and the capability to complete academic work at postgraduate level. As this is a training role part it is essential that you are prepared to undertake a postgraduate Diploma in CYP IAPT Therapy in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which will be offered as part of your employment.

Applicants for this role and training at KCL will need to be available to start at Step Forward on the week beginning 13th of January 2025 with the KCL course starting on the 20th January 2025. This role is and currently funded until March 2026. There is an intention to continue this position after this stage, but any extension is dependent on contracts, funding and organisational priorities
The Wellbeing Practitioner – CYP-IAPT Trainee will be responsible for providing professional and confidential 1-2-1 CBT support within Step Forward and our partner schools or other youth/health settings. The post holder would need to feel confident and competent in providing mental health and wellbeing support to young people and be experienced or able to work with young people.
Ideally, the candidate will have 2 years or more experience of working within school, health or youth settings and must be able to be flexible in order to respond to the needs of local young people and offer a personalised service.
Being part of the team at Step Forward will require you to develop positive working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams in different services. This position needs to have flexibility to ensure services are offered at a time when young people can access them including daytimes, evenings and weekends where appropriate
The role and KCL training will require you to provide CBT support to young people with the presenting issues of; anxiety and low mood/depression. Ideally you will understand evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences your practice
